Car rolled off the road, rocks falling and injured skier in the Westfjords

A truck rolled off the road at the Geitahvammsá in Hestfjörður, in the Westfjords, a week ago, the West Fjords Police said.

In addition to the driver, three passengers were also in the vehicle. No one was injured, as all were wearing safety belts and proper protective gear.

Lost control

Another road traffic collision occurred in Breiðadalur valley midday on Wednesday last week when a driver lost control of his vehicle and turned it off the road. Neither the driver nor passenger were hurt, as both were wearing safety belts, police said in a statement.

Skier injured

A young skier was injured in Tungudalur valley on Friday afternoon. He was taken to the hospital in Ísafjörður to be treated. His injuries are not life threatening.

Stone falling from the tunnel walls

The road administration clear the rocks from the road. The speedlimit has been lowered because of this and drivers are asked to pay attention and drive carefully.
