A face unexpectedly appeared in the Northern Lights

“It’s unbelievable,” says Sigurður Ó Lárusson, who is a computer programmer and lives in Burstabrekka in Hagi in the southern part of the country.
The Northern lights were amazing last Saturday and Lárusson just had to whip out his phone and take some photographs. When he looked at them later he could not believe his eyes.
He was walking up a hillside by the house on his way out of the garage at about ten o'clock as he looked at the sky and became intrigued by the lights in the sky. What he didn't realize until he had sent his daughters pictures was that one of them clearly showed a face.

“It’s incredible. I didn’t realize this until my daughter sent me the picture back and underlined the image,” Sigurður tells mbl.is.is.
He says that the northern lights are frequently spectacular seen from Burstabrekka and admires how they form in the sky above Ingólfsfjall.
Is going to get a proper camera
The face in the Northern lights has made Lárusson determined to get a “proper” camera so he can properly capture the stunning evening sky and the Northern Lights, instead of using his phone.in Sigur, who works for the Primary, promising himself to buy a “proper” camera to capture the first object instead of using the camera on the telephone.
“It’s such an outstanding place to watch the northern lights,” he says of Burstabrekka, “and is understandably very pleased with the photo he captured – on his phone.
