The crew of the Icelandic Coast Guard vessel Þór trained this week with the crews of the Brimil, the Faroese Coast Guard, and Vædderen, the Danish navy’s patrol vessel, off the Faroe Islands coast.

The exercise, which was officially offered to the Coast Guard at the weekend, began with a smoke drill involving a search for three crew members. Thor’s crew rescued the crew and came to Vædderen’s medical team, who were the medical first responders.

After the smoke drill, a towing exercise was conducted in which Vædderen towed the Coast Guard vessel Thor.  After the exercises all involved went over the protocol and reviewed the exercises, which were deemed to be particularly successful.

Here below are pictures from the training session.
