Intense fire in Grandagarður last night

A fire broke out in a building a backyard in Grandagarður in Reykjavík last night. When the fire department arrived at the scene there was a lot of fireand smoke on the premises. However, it went well putting the fire out as is reported on the Facebook page of the Fire department and after two hours the fire had been extinguished.
Thankfully the fire department managed to contain the fire so it wouldn't spread to nearby buildings, but the building in the backyard is completely destroyed after the fire.
There were 18 firefighters working the scene with four pump trucks.
Busy night
There was another fire in Lómasalir in Kópavogur last night. The fire was caused when items that had been put on a stove caught fire and there was quite a lot of damage due to the fire, soot and the smoke.
It was a busy night for the Fire Department last night. There were 120 ambulance transports and 38 of them were priority.
