Arctic Circle Assembly Opens Today

The 2021 Arctic Circle Assembly opened today at Harpa concert hall and conference center in Reykjavík, Morgunblaðið reports. The international gathering continues through Saturday, and day tours are planned for Sunday.

The conference is the first large international event regarding Arctic issues to be held during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100 seminars are planned, including more than 400 speakers from around the world — heads of state, CEOs and spokespersons for environmental protection.
