Ten Plus 12 New Cases of COVID-19
A total of 22 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in Iceland yesterday – ten of them at the border and 12 domestically, mbl.is reports. The figures have not yet been posted on covid.is, which is updated daily at 11 am, but they were confirmed by Superintendent Rögnvaldur Ólafsson.
A cluster of infections came up in the capital area yesterday, which includes at least 12 people – a number likely to rise.
Twelve people were transported to the quarantine facility on Rauðarárstígur in Reykjavík yesterday. All 12 are part of the cluster of infections, the origin of which is not known. The Department of Civil Protection’s contact tracing team is working on tracing the infections.
December 5-9, fewer than ten new domestic cases of COVID-19 were confirmed a day in Iceland, and 1-5 active cases a day at the border.
