Eleven New Domestic Cases of COVID-19 in Iceland

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is still rising in Iceland. The latest update on covid.is shows that 11 new domestic cases were confirmed yesterday, in addition to one active case at the border. The results of an antibody test from another positive test at the border are not yet in.

This brings the total number of active COVID-19 cases in Iceland to 50. One person remains hospitalized and 287 are in quarantine.

From July 3 through July 22, no new domestic cases were confirmed in Iceland. Since July 23, however, 39 domestic cases have been confirmed, causing authorities to tighten restrictions as of today.
