The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, keeps rising in Iceland. With eight new cases confirmed today, the total number of confirmed cases of the disease in Iceland has now reached 34, mbl.is reports.

Chief Epidemiologist Þórólfur Guðnason confirms this. He states that the eight cases are the results of samples taken yesterday. Seven of them are positive, while one is inconclusive, but still included in the total count.

Just like the previously confirmed cases, all eight cases confirmed today have been traced to ski areas in Italy and Austria.
