Pig farm in Kjalarnes catches fire
A fire broke out in the Stjörnugrís pig farm in Kjalarnes, close to Reykjavik last night. A lot of smoke was in the building when firefighters arrived to the scene. Some of the pigs had to be put down.
Around 160 pigs were inside and no humans were hurt. The fire seems to have originated in the air conditioning system. A vet was called out to attend to the animals.
