The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police apprehended a student at Fjölbrautarskólinn við Ármúla, a college in central Reykjavik this morning. The reason was that the student had written a Facebook status that stated, "One like and I'll shoot up my school."

Mbl.is obtained a screenshot of the status update. Head master at the Ármuli college, Ólafur H.Sigurjónsson told mbl.is that the school had not called police but confirmed that police had spoken with the student this morning after being notified.

"I think it was just a prank but the police were right to respond as they did. I think their response was firm and normal," said Sigurjónsson who added that such things needed to be taken seriously.

The student went home and school authorities will be speaking to him tomorrow.

Police have not responded to questions by mbl.is yet.
