SAR teams rescue tourists stuck on mountain
Two tourists had to be rescued last night from the Botnsfjall mountain in Snæfellsnes in West Iceland. A national coastguard helicopter was also called out.
The two men could neither climb up or down in an escarpment of cliffs on the mountain and getting to them proved very difficult, even for the helicopter. Finally the men were hoisted up into the helicopter.
According to police the men were well equipped and unharmed although they had suffered from the cold.
