Tourists involved in serious car crash at Kirkjubæjarklaustur
Three tourists were seriously injured in a car accident east of Kirkjubæjarklaustur in East Iceland. It appears that one of the vehicles swerved on to the wrong side of the road and hit the other one head on.
The three men are all in intensive care at the National University Hospital. One is from Taiwan born in 1983 and the other two are American, born 1986 and 1991.
The accident was so serious that the road was closed for over four hours causing traffic blockages as there was no other way around it.
