Armed police unit make arrest in Bríetartún this morning

The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police have arrested two individuals in Bríetartún in Reykjavik. According to police the matter is not related to the two arrests made yesterday. "A new day and new cases," said Jóhann Karl Þórisson, deputy chief of police. 

The arrests were made following an emergecncy phonecall about men weilding knives inside the apartment building which is near Hlemmur and the financial quarter of Reykjavik. 

"We bring the armed unit along if we are not sure what awaits us, especially if there is suspicion of weapons. But there were no weapons."

The matter was in connection with an attack on a man who is recovering from minor injuries. The men arrested were high on drugs.
