SAR teams look for missing man

Al SAR treams in South Iceland and the National Coastguard helicopter are taking part in a search for a man who has been missing since leaving his home on Tuesday. 

Around 60 SAR team members are taking part in the search using dogs, drones and six-wheelers. 

They are currently looking into conditions for searching the Ölfusá river using boats. 

The man is called Ríkharður Pétursson, born in 1969. He is of average height and thin build. He left his home at Selfoss at 4 pm on Tuesday and has not been seen since. He was wearing black trousers, a black parka and a black hat with yellow lettering. Anyone who has seen him is asked to contact the police.
