Hurricane force winds in North Iceland

Search and Rescue teams have been hard at work since nine AM this morning in Akureyri Hrísey and Sauðárkrókur due to a severe storm. Weather has gotten steadily worse and winds reach up to 55 m/s.
SAR team members have been helping in securing objects that have been blown away in the wind.
People are urged to refrain from travelling.
