Weather warning for South East Iceland

There's a weather warning for status yellow with a storm and windgusts up to 40 m/s expected along the South East Coast from Skeiðarársandur to Djúpivogur. Also gusts 30-35 m/s between Reykjavík and Hvalfjörður tunnel are expected until afternoon.

A yellow weather alert has been issued by the Iceland Met Office for Reykjavik, South Iceland, Faxaflói bay, Breiðafjörður bay, The West Fjords, Strandir, North Iceland, North West Iceland and North East Iceland.

The current storm in Reykjavik blew a hot tub from the balcony of the thirteenth floor of an apartment building in Kópavogur and landed on the grounds of a playschool.

Crazy weather hits Reykjavik - all internal flights down and international flights delayed

All domestic flights are down in Iceland with a storm raging on the South West peninsula. There has been disruption to school in some areas of the city and international flights arriving this morning have been delayed.

Orange alert for Reykjavik Tuesday morning- Parents to accompany children to school

The Iceland Met Office has issued a weather warning for Tuesday morning. The Reykjavik Fire Department says that there may disruption to school and that parents must accompany children aged 12 or under to school.
