Last night two fires occurred in Reykjavik. One was in Mosfellsbær where eleven people were rescued and taken to hospital and the other in Grafarvogur where a man was rescued from a burning flat and is now in critical condition in hospital.

The fire in Grafarvogur occurred in an apartment building at Bláhamrar where a flat on the fourth floor was on fire. Numerous people were shut inside the building, amongst them a pregnant woman who waited on the balcony to be rescued. Damage to the building is considerable.

The home in Mosfellsbær burned down to the ground.
