Nikolaj Wilhelm Herluf Olsen, fellow crew member to Thomas Møller Olsen who stands accused of murdering Birna Brjánsdóttir on the morning of January 14th, was extremely drunk, says a witness who works at The English Pub.

Both Nikolaj and Thomas were at The English Pub on that night in question. The witness has been friends with Nikolaj Olsen since 2015 and met Thomas for the first time that night at the English Pub. "I had never met him before." She added that Nikolaj was so drunk that staff had to interfere. Asked about Thomas's state she said, "He seemed quite sober when he arrived. I saw him drink one beer and a couple of shots."

She says that she heard from Nikolaj later that night and then on Tuesday when the Polar Nanoq was returned to harbour in Hafnarfjörður. "He told me that the ship was being sent back to Iceland and he didn't know why." Asked whether it seemed that Nikolaj was at the bar to meet women she says that she had not noticed that.
