Iceland 13th on stage in Eurovision Song Contest

Svala Björgvins will step on the big Eurovision stage on 9 May on Iceland’s behalf. She will be the 13^th in line, a good place according to Icelandic Eurovision specialists and enthusiasts.  

In 1999 Selma Björnsdóttir competed on Iceland behalf and was the runner up, she was the 13^th to step on stage that year.

Svala is a successful musician working in Los Angeles, and decided on a whim to submit the song Paper to the preliminary competition in Iceland. The song is not what you would call a typical Eurovision song, but has been predicted to be successful.
