New website for finding work in Iceland launched

Iceland Recruitment is a brand new English-language website aimed at linking up locals and foreign workers interested in moving to Iceland with job offers in the country.

The business and website is the brainchild of British recruitment expert Alan Wayne, who has years of experience in assisting job-hunters find work in Iceland and Scandinavia.

Details of job offers from the company’s Icelandic clients will be posted in English. Job-hunters interested in working in Iceland will be able to apply for specific vacancies, or simply express general interest by sending in their CV.

Iceland Recruitment is able to accept applications only from job-hunters who are nationals of one of the 32 states of the European Economic Area .

“We just wanted to set up an English-language recruitment site for people to understand what they were applying for,” Wayne tells Iceland Monitor .

“We feel this is something that is desperately needed, considering that Iceland may need an extra 20-30,000 new employees over the next decade.”

The site offers spaces for employers to post details of their vacancies and for individuals to apply for work in various different fields.

“Iceland is currently seeing great demand for foreign employees, owing to growth in tourism and construction, and the market is much larger than before, with every corner of employment market in need of people to work,” Wayne explains.
