Iceland’s hit TV drama Trapped returns for a second series

Fans of hit Icelandic TV series Trapped will be thrilled to hear that a second series is on the way.

Producers RVK Studi­os and Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV have reached an agreement on starting work on a new series of the mystery television drama, which has sold to both France and the UK.

“It is wonderful news,” says series developer Baltasar Kormákur.

“We are very excited to be bringing this talented group back together to work on another series of Trapped. Indeed, the story is just beginning – we will be getting to know the protagonists much better and watch them solve more complex murder mysteries.”

“This certainly is wonderful news,” agrees Director-General of RÚV Magnús Geir Þórðarson. “The first series was a wonderful televisual event, which it is safe to say captured the imagination of the whole national and beat all records.”

The news series is expected to premiere on RÚV in autumn 2018.
