Is a February 29th birthday a blessing or a curse?

Well, four new Icelanders will be finding out for themselves in a few years’ time after being born on Monday this week – 29 February, the famous ‘extra day’ added to our calendar every four years to account for the actual time it takes the Earth to orbit the Sun.

Three of the new arrivals were born at the National University Hospital in the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, while the fourth came into the world the hospital in the northern town of Akureyri.
