Baltasar Kormákur is undoubtedly Iceland's most famous film director but last night his son, Baltasar Breki stole the limelight in the premier of Girnd (Tennessee Williams' Pulitzer prize winning play A Streetcar named Desire) at the National Theatre in Reykjavik.
Breki is the son of Kormákur and former partner, dancer Ástrós Gunnarsdóttir and he plays Stanley opposite Nína Dögg Filippusdóttir's Blanche.
Baltasar Kormákur and his wife, entrepreneur Lilja Pálmadóttir both attended the star-studded premiere last night. The play is directed by Stefán Baldursson.
