Police now have grounds to believe that the man currently in custody on suspicion on infecting women in Iceland with HIV did indeed know that he was HIV+.

Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV (see article in Icelandic here) reports that the Supreme Court of Iceland has ratified the ruling of the Reykjavik District Court to remand the man in police custody.

As previously reported by Iceland Monitor, the suspect had not duly submitted a medical certificate after submitting his asylum application and was not known to medical authorities until recently.
