Color Run 2015 - Reykjavik

Tomorrow sees the first ever edition of the Color Run in Iceland. Runners will be taking on a five-kilometre course around Reykjavik.

The race is untimed and participants – initially wearing white – will be splashed in coloured powder upon completion of each kilometre. The revelry continues after the race with a ‘Finish Festival’ of music, dancing and more colour throwing!

The Color Run was founded in March of 2011 as an event to promote healthiness and happiness. It takes place in over thirty countries worldwide including, for the first time this year, Iceland.

There are some 8,000 places runners taking part in tomorrow’s race, which has now sold out. The Reykjavik weather forecast is good for running – dry, with sunny spells, and a temperature of around 8°C.

Some ISK 5 million (approx. €34,000) will be donated by the Color Run organisers, Alvogen, to Icelandic charities engaged in child rights and welfare.
