Skyr sales abroad boost profits
MS Iceland Dairies posted profits of ISK 322 million (approx. €2.2 million) in 2014, up a third on the previous year. These improved figures are thanks to MS’ success abroad and the profit generated from manufacturing and licensing Iceland’s famous skyr.
MS has being directing efforts at promoting skyr abroad, both by exporting the product and collaborating with foreign manufacturers. MS will receive its share of the estimated ISK 9 billion (approx. €61 million) profit that the skyr market abroad is forecast to generate in 2015.
