One small car for man - one giant field of lava

A Land Rover and Holuhraun.

It is hard to fully understand just how colossal the Holuhraun lava-field in Iceland has become. Covering an area of over 60 square kilometers, it is bigger than the entire land mass of Manhattan, so one can imagine just how big it is.

But that is all too relative. How big is Manhattan anyway. Most of us know how big one Land Rover is. It's pretty big, but nothing compared to the lava-field, as is obvious from the photo above. No, this is not a toy car or tilt-shift photography. This is how big the lava-field is, next to what seems to be a tiny Land Rover.
