The Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Iceland advises travelers from Iceland not to travel through the UK, mbl.is reports.

A message on the ministry’s Facebook page reads as follows:

“We emphasize that due to the rapid spread of a new variant of the coronavirus in the UK, many European countries have imposed a ban on the entry of travelers from the UK. This affects those who travel from Iceland to other countries with a stopover in the UK. Therefore, those who need to travel in the near future are advised to avoid flights through airports in the UK, due to disruptions these measures have caused.”
