Glacier in Motion
Nature was on the move when Morgunblaðið photographer Ragnar Axelsson, a.k.a. RAX, recently visited Fjallsárlón glacial lagoon, Southeast Iceland. He captured a moment when a large chunk of ice from Fjallsjökull glacier tumbled into the lagoon, located just west of the better known Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon.
Fjallsárlón, which is smaller than Jökulsárlón, enjoys increasing popularity among tourists and is visited by about 18,000 of them a year, where they enjoy guided boat rides.
