Winds over 50 m/s in Snæfellsnes and wind speed meter knocked out in Lómagnúpur

Winds in the south western part of Snæfellsnes in West Iceland have mostly been around and over 50 meters per second since midnight last night.

The wind speed meter was knocked out at Lómagnúpur in Öræfi in South East Iceland at midnight last night. The bad weather is subsiding in West Iceland, South Iceland and South East Iceland but strong winds are still expected until midnight in many parts of the country. 

Travel conditions  in most part of Iceland are very poor due to winds and snowfall.
