Iceland's route 1 probably to be closed at 6 pm due to storm

Reynir Gunnarsson, managing director at the Höfn road administration office has told mbl.is that the route no.1 will probably be closed between Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon and Kirkjubæjarklaustur at 6 pm. At that time the situation will be assessed.

The weather forecast predicts a storm across Iceland with gusts of wind particularly bad in the south east area. If the weather forecast stays the same, road closures could continue until noon tomorrow.
