Aurora Forecast is a new website offering a complete forecast for Northern Lights in Iceland. One of three founders of the site, Sævar Helgi Bragason says that an all inclusive guide to the Northern Lights has been much needed.

Bragason is one of Iceland's best known astronomy enthusiasts and northern lights experts. "Most of the time people hunting for Northern Lights have to search for information in a variety of different places. I wanted to design one, solid website where you can access earth and space weather conditions, cloud cover forecast and Northern Lights Activity Forecast." In addition the website offers information on sun & moon status, safe travel and road conditions, and where to go on Northern Lights hunts.

The website is in English but will be accessible in other languages soon. "Everyone looking up at the sky can use the website but it's set up so that it's simple and easy to use. It's particularly aimed at tourists and tour guides in Iceland.
