Icelanders divided over their support of whaling
A new survey conducted by MMR shows that approximately the same number of people are for and against whaling. Thirty-four percent were against whaling, thirty-four percent were in favour of whaling and thirty-one percent were neither for or against.
More women than men were against whaling and younger rather than older people were against whaling. People in rural areas were slightly more in favour of whaling than in the capital area.
