Tourist traffic temporarily closed off for fragile nature paths
The Iceland Environmental Agency has closed off three touris areas in the past couple of weeks due to too much traffic on fragile soil.
Today, the walking path to the Reykjadalur springs in South Iceland was temporarily closed off. Due to spring thaw, the ground is very fragile and the hoardes of tourists to the area is causing damage.
Other areas that are closed are Fjarðárgljúfur canyon and Skógaheiði.
