Farmers asked not to disturb Northern Lights viewing

Farmers at Bakki in Kjalarnes in West Iceland are sick of tourists visiting their land and using it as a picnic site. They have written a Facebook post where they say that the last straw was recently when a small coach was driven onto their land. When farmer Birgir Aðalsteinsson went to check whether anyone in the vehicle was in trouble, he was asked to turn off the lights on his car so as not to disturb Northern Lights viewing. The Icelandic guide told him that he had a full right to be there.

"How can anyone think that they have a right to do business on other people's property without permission?" Aðalsteinsson said speaking to today's Morgunblaðið.
