Earthquake measuring 3.5 in Bárðarbunga
An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale occurred just before three AM last night around 2.5 km South East of the Bárðarbunga caldera.
Bárðarbunga last erupted in a new fissure eruption between Bárðarbunga and Askja in the Holuhraun lava field between 2014- 2015.
Acccording to the Iceland Met Office no aftershocks have been detected and there is no volcanic unrest meaning that the earthquake was probably a singular event.
