Watch out for ice on Reykjavik streets today

The Reykjavik Metropolitan Police warns of very icy pavements and streets in the city today. Vehicles have begun salting on main paths. 

The ice is not particularly visible as it's been a rainy morning so people can be taken by surprise by mirror-like pavement surfaces. 

In other road news, Hellisheiði, the road between Hveragerði and Reykjavik is getting a lot of wet snow today so conditions are difficult.  People are urged to take great care driving on icy roads.
