A video showing a long row of rental cars pulled up on the side of the road between Geysir and Laugavatn yesterday has created a stir.

Guide Pétur Gauti Valgeirsson who shared the video says that this problem is becoming widespread in those parts.

"They're all tourists in rental cars who stopped by the roadside and are running back an forth," he says adding that this is extremely dangerous. "There's a lot of traffic on that road with lots of large vehicles and it's particularly dangerous when the road is icy."  He add that there's no parking space for cars there at all.

"When I see a rental car in front of me I always take great care, because I never know if it will suddenly brake and pull over to look at something interesting. "
