Roads close in North Iceland due to avalanches
The road to Siglufjörður, a town in North Iceland is closed due to avalanches. Further roads in the West Fjords, East Iceland and North Iceland are impassable.
The Iceland Met Office predicts a strong North Easterly wind over the next 24 hours with a lot of snowfall which means avalanche danger could increase in parts of the country.
Hellisheiði is covered in icy patches and most roads in South Iceland are icy due to the sharp lowering of temperatures.
