Kári the friendly Icelandic fox
A fox that frequents the camping site at Húsadalur in the beautiful wilderness of Þórsmörk nature reserve has become pretty famous on Instagram due to his friendly nature. He has been christened Kári.
In the last two years, a pair of foxes have made the area their home, and this spring, 5-6 cubs were born. Photographs of the foxes have been popular on Instagram, especially of Kári the fox who has the hashtag #karithefox .
The fox cubs are particularly curious and approach humans at a distance of only 1- 2 metres. Ranger Donal Boyd as Húsafell says that tourists are particularly curious about the foxes and want to know more about them. The foxes are often given dog food but they also hunt for their own food.
