Last Thursday, Morgunblaðið journalist Sigurður Bogi Sævarsson took these wonderful aerial images of Iceland during his flight from Reykjavik to the eastern town of Egilsstaðir.

The sky was clear and passengers were treated to wonderful views of the Icelandic landscape – “one after another, like pearls on a necklace,” says Sævarsson.

The flight from Reykjavik to Egilsstaðir is operated by Air Iceland and takes approx. 55 minutes.
