Car rental in Iceland the most expensive in Europe

Tourists in Iceland have to pay much higher prices for renting a car than tourists travelling elsewhere in Europe according to new price research by travel website Túristi.is. The comparison runs between twenty European airports.
Renting a car is 58 % more expensive in Iceland than in Oslo for example. On average, those who pick up a rental car at Keflavik International Airport in Iceland pay around 9 thousand ISK per day for the smallest type of car for a rental period of two weeks during the summer.
The second highest price is at Oslo airport which is still considerably lower than in Iceland.
