Police warn of icicle hazard
Police in the Greater Reykjavik area have issued a warning to residents and visitors to be mindful of icicles overhead.
The danger posed by falling icicles is clear and current freezing conditions means that have icicles been forming in many places, particularly in areas of central Reykjavik.
Owners and operators of buildings have a statutory obligation to “remove any snow or icicles which may fall and pose a hazard to pedestrians” and have been asked by police to comply with this instruction.
