Three airlines operate 90% of flights

Despite twice as many airlines operating out of Keflavík International Airport (KEF) than two years go, three airlines still account for 90% of all international flights.

According to Icelandic tourism and travel website turisti.is, Icelandir is by far the largest airline at KEF, with two-thirds of all departures. This share is still, however, a reduction as compared to previous years, despite a higher number of flights.

Together with Icelandair, WOW air and easyJet make up the trio of airlines dominating international operations from Iceland’s main airport.

The number of scheduled departures from KEF has increased by 45% since October 2013.
