Spanish flag carrier Iberia has announced a new route between Madrid and Iceland, operating between mid-June and mid-September 2016.

This will be Spain’s largest airline’s first ever Iceland service and until now only Icelandair has flown to Madrid from Iceland – also just for the summer months.

According to Icelandic tourism and travel website turisti.is, the cheapest return fare on offer from Iberia costs around ISK 28,000 (approx. €200).

Passengers flying to Madrid from Iceland with Iberia will have the opportunity to make through-bookings to the airline’s extensive world network, including numerous destinations in South America.

Flights will be operated by Iberia subsidiary, Iberia Express.
