Air fares from Iceland have fallen this month on all routes from Iceland operated by more than one airline, as compared to July, according to Icelandic travel search engine website Dohop.

Competition on all routes from Iceland has brought air fares down by over 20% on average in the space of just one month.

A comparison of prices over the coming weeks to destinations from Iceland operated by more than one airline show that all fares are now cheaper than in July – ranging from 2% cheaper for New York to a massive 35% cheaper to Oslo.

The average air fare to Oslo in the period analysed is ISK 34,379 (approx. €230). The general fall in fares can be explained to some extent by the approaching end of the summer high season.

Noteworthy is the finding that for three of the most popular destinations for Icelanders – Barcelona, Copenhagen and London – the cheapest air fares are to be had with Icelandic airlines.
