PHOTOS: Making the most of the grey
Grey clouds and rain are somewhat of a recurring feature in Iceland. While this is not ideal for getting a tan, it is no obstacle at all to finding, enjoying and capturing on film splendid views of Icelandic landscapes.
This is demonstrated magnificently by famous Icelandic photographer Ragnar Axelsson (known affectionately as RAX) in these haunting black-and-white shots of Southern Iceland.
A lone car winds its way along the Höfðabrekkuheiði mountain road through landscape familiar to Games of Thrones fans and under a menacingly black sky.
Icelandic horses seek shelter in numbers in the shadow of the mighty Eyjafjöll mountains and pregnant rain clouds.
A lone traveller stands miniscule in the boundless space and silence of their Kvíárjökull glacier view, the 21st century nothing but a distant memory.
Enjoy!
