Bridge collapses due to floods
Heavy rain has caused rivers to flood in East Iceland. The river Selá in Vopnafjörður grew from seventeen cubic metres per second to 130 and a new walking bridge was swept away as captured here by Morgunblaðið reporter in Vopnafjörður, Jón Sigurðarson.
The Iceland Met Office has sent out a flood and mud avalanche warning due to heavy rain. The rain should subside somewhat tomorrow, Friday.
