Icelandair 4th best-run European airline
Icelandair is Europe’s fourth best-run airline, according to Aviation Week magazine, reports Icelandic tourism and travel website turisti.is.
Experts look at annual reports from airlines all over the world and judge aspects such as financial strength, revenue distribution and business model. Airlines are given a score between one and 99.
Icelandair has this year received a score of 62, which puts it in fourth place in Europe. This score also places Icelandair in third place among all airlines in the world grossing under ISK 500 billion (approx. €3.4 billion).
The top ten best-run European airlines according to Aviation Week are:
- Ryanair, 72.2 points
- Aegean Airlines, 69.1 points
- EasyJet, 66.9 points
- Icelandair, 62 points
- International Airlines Group (British Airways, Iberia, Vueling), 50.7 points
- Flybe, 45.9 points
- Turkish Airlines, 44.5 points
- Air France-KLM, 39.8 points
- Aer Lingus, 38 points
- Lufthansa 36.7 points
