A series of earthquakes near Reykjanes
A series of earthquakes have taken place southwest of the Reykjanes peninsula in south-west Iceland reaching a climax last night with the largest quakes measured between 4-5 on the Richter scale.
According to the Iceland Met Office, similar activity was recorded in the past few years and is related to the tectonic plates meeting at this location. Nothing points to the fact that the earthquakes will have any effect in Iceland nor are they a cause for concern.
